A Democratic presidential candidate from California will quickly turn the country into a crypto nation if he were to win the US presidential seat. 38-year-old Eric Swalwell is now accepting BTC, BCH, XLM, ETH, BSV, and WSD to fund his 2020 presidential campaign. Armed with a crypto contribution campaign site, Swalwell is already making positive headlines. Most recently stating that “Blockchain can change the world if we let it.”
All of this news is huge for the crypto community because support like this from a political candidate is going to bring more attention to crypto and help to put a positive stamp on its significance. Daggers are expected to be aimed at Swalwell from the likes of crypto haters such as Congressman Brad Sherman, also of California, who recently proposed a ban on crypto; and undoubtedly the fed’ and banks that secretly run the country won't be too pleased either.
For so long the government has been trying to ignore cryptocurrency but now there is absolutely no way that they can continue to ignore with a presidential candidate who wholeheartedly believes in blockchain technology and crypto. Swalwell's movement could shine a light so bright on the cryptosphere that no matter if he wins or loses this a win for crypto.
I personally don’t think Swalwell has a shot in the dark at becoming president so soon with him being so new to the big political scene and him being such a major disruptor to the feds and banking industry. Not many people know of him and he is heading up against some major well-liked players namely Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden. Still, all and all, the most important thing here is that a presidential candidate is showing support for crypto in great magnitude on the grand stage of America and this is a huge win for us!
