Bourboun street in New Orleans, Walking street in Pattayya, Burgos street in Manila, Pham street in Saigon and Street 136 in Phenom Penh !
These are streets that openly offer wares that are disapproved of, sanctioned or even illegal in most parts of the world. These Streets of Sin will be frowned upon by most who are straitjacketed or addicted to moralism. But in essence, they espouse one simple karma - Live and let Live !
The crowd populating these streets are the young backpackers who are still not moulded in the rigid stiffness of their respective societies, the experimenters, the Libertarians and the same ilk. These are places where people from 50 different nationalities let their guards down to mingle irrespective of the color of their skins. The general atmosphere is one of camaraderie, good natured fun and a childlike openness and willingness to explore and connect with people all over the planet.
These streets don't really have a signboard at the entrance - but if they did - it would probably say - Outside rules don't apply !
