When I initially heard I could do staking with ADA I got quite excited. I’d watched quite a few Buffy the Vampire Slayer shows in my youth and I was pretty sure that ADA would be a lovely lady (I had an Aunt Aida once). I wasn’t too sure what vampires and wooden stakes had to do with crypto currency but I was looking forward to finding out!

Suffice it to say I hadn’t quite got the right idea. I had heard of Cardona. As I researched more into what it was and how it worked, I found myself really liking the idea although still a little sad I wasn’t going to be fighting vampires with an up-to-date version of Buffy Summers called ADA.
Once I finally bought some, I could see it glistening in my UPHOLD wallet, all ready to be staked and start earning interest and that is where I ran into a problem. The UPHOLD wallet doesn’t support staking with Cardona. It also doesn’t allow you to send it away. All you can do is buy and hold with it.
Now I am a little bit stubborn (actually according to both my ex and current wife I am very stubborn but I am not going to admit that to either of them- just to you my dear reader) and so once I had finally worked out, I couldn’t stake with the UPHOLD wallet I set about looking for an alternative. I finally decided to use the Exodus wallet. It seemed a pretty clean and simple design, and more importantly from my current perspective, secure and I could also stake Cardona.
I got around the UPHOLD problems by converting my stake into another currency and then transferring it to my new wallet. Once there I had to convert it back but at last, I was ready to start staking. I had researched a pool I wanted to join but in actual fact all I had to do with Exodus was indicate I wanted to start staking and it then sorted everything out for me automatically. This was probably a good idea as I probably would have chosen a not very good pool anyway. Once I have a good, clear understanding of the different pools and how they operate I will maybe change but for the moment I am all sorted. I can continue to add to my new wallet whenever I want and now that I know to avoid UPHOLD for Cardona, I won’t be stuck with so many conversion fees.
So, for any newbies that like the idea of earning coins and making their Cardona work for them instead of sitting in their wallet looking pretty I would definitely recommend Exodus. And if you want to get involved with vampires here are some I'm thinking of fighting later!
