As I mentioned in my last post Does size really matter? I had been encouraged by my loving wife to lose weight and exercise (the photo above isn't me but is a good representation!) After lots of searching I found a way to encourage me to exercise as well as to earn crypto coins. The App is called Sweatcoin and it counts the steps you take every day and converts them to Sweatcoins which can be exchanged for items including discounts, memberships of different things, certain specific items, or even saved up and used to bid for things like Gopro cameras.


Once you have downloaded the App you asked to allow it to access your health data so it can gather the number of steps you make. It will set you a monthly and yearly target based on the amount steps you did the preceding year if the data is available- there are prize draws if you reach or exceed your monthly goal.You have the opportunity to try a slot machine after you have done a certain number of steps during the day which will allow you to earn extra coins. Generally, I earn about $5 SWC every day from this but the highest prize is $100 SWC!

There is also an option to do complete a 20-minute booster session where if you manage to do 2000 steps in steps in 20 minutes you get a bonus $5 of Sweatcoins.

There is the option to upgrade your membership, giving access to higher rates of earning and prizes. These can be purchased using the coins you have already earned and are calculated on a monthly basis.
This app can be used worldwide. When you log in it asks for your current location so as to show you offers relevant to where you are living.
I have to say if I am going to do exercise (which I don’t really have any choice about) I might as well as earn coins for doing it so I heartily recommend this app. There has been no impact in terms of battery life or data use as far as I can tell. So there you have it- my review of Sweatcoin.
