I don't know very much about other sectors, but regarding recession and real estate industry, my question is: 

- Is the corona virus turmoil and the recession a bad or good time to invest in real estate? 

Let's consider few strategies and possible scenarios

• Set goals and a long-term strategy to help you in the recession times and to reduce your risk significantly. In real estate you cannot speculate much, like in other sectors, but setting a long-term (5 to 25 years) strategy reduces risk and increases overall revenues. 
• In real estate cash flow is important, and the good news is that it is not much affected during a recession; even if the value of your properties drop for a while, you still have a real source of cash flow, which will increase back in a relative short time! 
• Do not panic and sell at the bottom of the market, even if prices drop, they will recover; economic cycles make property values go up and down, but over time, real estate historically always goes up. 
• Always search, research and analyze properties you want to acquire or to invest in, and only invest at prices that make good sense. 
• Even if there are no recession-proof properties, but having good properties in good locations will do better in a potential market downturn. 
• Keep your cash reserves.
• Do not use temporary financial survival techniques like speculation and risky trades.

Conclusions

Again, the question is: recession is bad or good time to invest in real estate? I my opinion it is a good time but you must do your own research before investing in any asset. However, from history we know that real estate is performing relatively well in recession times; also the economic cycles make property values go up and down, but over time, real estate historically always goes up.
