In our current generation, we have reached a whole different level of advanced technology. One of the most obvious examples is artificial intelligence (AI), which has assisted humanity in multiple aspects, especially education. However, there is one specific field that is better off kept as an only human activity, just like it was centuries ago.
Art.
Before I elaborate further, what is art?
Art is whatever is created or constructed by a human soul with deliberate care, intention and meaning. it allows what is within to take shape and be expressed in the real world. It could take a visual form through painting, legible through writing, or audible through music or podcasting...anything!
It does not have to be perfect; it just has to be yours, made by your own mind alongside your hands or voice. Authenticity and passion are what make real art, flaws can be fixed through practice. If an individual just grabs their phone, types a few sentences , gets the job done in a few seconds, and calls it their own, then I and every real, independent artist would be more than happy to give them the award of "the devoid of artistic agency"
It genuinely eliminates the fundamental joy of seeing the creation of your inner world.
It is not art anymore, but just plain, easy homework.
AI is able to replicate the outputs of a human brain, or even perform them better. Yet never a human’s artistic spirit. Even if Its work might look flawless on the surface.
Every creator has his own style and preferences. Since souls are different from each other, people find beauty in different things. You might think that the creation AI generates is just another one of these preferences. However, it lacks the human-made, personal flavor that distinguishes a real artist from another.
At least, think of artists who spend hours creating, getting their hands sore, their foreheads sweaty and their minds working hard.
Would you really find an effortless creation that carries no emotions, no talent, and no personal flavor…more appealing and praiseworthy?
ask yourself: would you really let a machine speak for you? Using AI this way is as if you are ungrateful for the abilities your brain possesses. You treat your mind as irrelevant just because AI is here.to do it all.
The default mode network in your brain isn’t a decoration; it is a powerhouse of creativity, imagination, and ideas.
By lacking agency, you are forcing it into early retirement.
Other than that, AI is not a malicious invention.
In fact, it is beneficial for inspiration and self-education as a source of unlimited information. It allows you to engage in intellectual debates and gain new skills.
This kind of use is acceptable and even recommended.
The message that should be ingrained in the mindset of modern artists is that their creations are better off as theirs, made by their own human touch. They should never allow their work to be watered down by “perfect” artificiality.
