We live in a globalized world, which means we are connected to the whole world and to everyone, all at the same time. Confusing? No, that's the power of globalization. In the past, people were restricted to their neighborhood, their city, and at most – generally – their country. However, with the advancement of communication and transportation technologies, access to culture and products from other countries is much easier and more accessible.
But doesn't this great ease have a negative side? I remember a love story that says it's much harder to find someone today because the bar has been raised with globalization. Does that make sense? Just as access to culture and news has become global, so have romantic possibilities. With the implementation of dating apps and social networks increasing interaction with people far away, your universe of possibilities expands and the demands increase.
This is one example that shows how the advancement of globalization has impacted people's lives, increasing anxiety because they begin to compare themselves to others who are distant from their reality, who haven't experienced the same issues, and who are possibly only selecting the best moments of their lives and day to post online.
Like the equivalent exchange in the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, in life there is always a tendency towards balance; if there has been great progress, problems related to it have certainly arisen. With more access, people begin to consume content and news that won't change their lives in any way, wasting their time. Boredom has disappeared because today you can access streaming services, social media, games, and everything else with the current level of technology. And you know what you don't have? TIME! Time for calm, tranquility, so you can think about life and rethink your choices.

The Importance of Quiet Time!
Sometimes I find myself in a situation where, if I just thought for a little longer, I believe it would be resolved, but because I need to use that time for another task, I end up without enough time for that moment of reflection. That's why I can't quickly recall the last time I calmly stopped to think. However, I am aware that this is extremely important, but at the same time risky, because it can end up interfering with other activities.
The reason is simple. Because modern life is a rush, with information arriving from everywhere, we don't have quiet time to think about things. So, when we decide to stop for a moment to think about the situation we're in, because we've been without this pause for so long, one thing starts piling up after another, and if you stop to think and solve problems, you end up delaying "normal" tasks that you'll later have to catch up on.
It's really difficult, but important. The answer, as usual, is to seek a possible balance, perhaps by allocating a moment every X amount of time to have this period and to avoid the madness of losing control in the middle of the calm, practicing a little meditation and setting limits regarding time and topics that should be respected, so that it doesn't disrupt the rest of your life, and on the contrary, serves as a moment to reaffirm decisions and recalculate your course.
