Gospel of the day: Luke 18: 9-14
"...for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
and the one who humbles himself will be exalted."
I believe that God teaches us to be humble always and forgo self righteousness... Sometimes we always press on to what we believe is right, we forget to be merciful, we forget that we too are just human and that we all need God, we all need His mercy.
We are caught up in being right, in being correct
we fail to be humble but everything we have is only thru God's mercy. Everything we are enjoying, even the air we breath comes from God. We alone cannot do anything, we alone cannot accomplish anything nor reach as far as we have, it is all in God's grace and mercy. So we need to always be humble and bring back all the glory to God.
We need to realize and recognize that we are all equal. Rich or poor, intelligent or not so intelligent, beautiful or not so beautiful, handsome or not, we all owe God. Everything we have. If God chooses to do so, tomorrow, we can lose our lives, or we can lose what we have and what are we left with? Nothing.
Practice the art of humility and we might just find ourselves on top of the pedestal we so seek, but in humility we are raised even further because it is God who holds us.
