Gospel for the day: MK 12:28-34
Friday on the 3rd Week of Lent
Point 1: We were created by a God of Love and we should pass on that love to others. It is the greatest commandment, to love God above all things and to love our neighbor as ourselves and something we should all learn to do. Yes, it's easier said than done especially the 2nd part, but especially during this time of lent, we should learn to love like how God loves us. This has been repeated over and over again by many reflections, many gospel readings since time immemorial, but it remains to be true and relevant regardless of the moderness of times.
Point 2: Look for the truth, not to be right.
As the scribe did, when he heard what Jesus was preaching, he approached him and asked. He wanted to learn and know the truth. He listened and learned the truth. If you argue just to prove you are right, then you are not looking for the truth. You are just looking to feed your ego. You are affirming only yourself and it causes conflict among family, friends. So in any argument, humbly look for the truth and don't look to be right.
