Let your embrace be mine—what need have I for strangers near?
When you, who know my wounded heart, are here, what grief should I fear?

If you, my love, are by my side, why should I fear the turning years?
Within the darkness of the night, your light outshines my deepest fears.

I ask not for a garden vast, nor palaces of gold and stone;
One quiet corner in your arms is worth a kingdom of my own.

Let all the world become my foe, let heaven itself grow wild and stern;
With your warm presence close to me, my silent heart will never burn.

One gentle smile upon your lips can send my every sorrow away;
One tender word from you can make my withered heart bloom again today.

And if the rain should fall all night, and storms arise across the sky,
With you beside me, grief shall fade; with you, no sorrow shall survive.

To simply be beside you is enough—what more could life bestow?
You are my world, my dream, my love, the only home my heart shall know.

I ask not for the silver, gold, nor crowns that kings desire;
Your loving eyes are treasure enough, the wealth of my heart's entire empire.

But if one day we part, the world would lose its colors in my eyes;
Each street would lose its meaning then, each garden lose its skies.

If your soft breeze should reach me, my heart would tremble with delight;
And I would weep for you alone within the silence of the night.

O heart of mine, why fear the ache of loneliness and separation?
For love becomes eternal when it lives on faith and dedication.

If only once you looked at me with those tired, tender eyes,
That single moment would be worth a lifetime beneath the skies.

If your hand were placed in mine, the whole wide world would come to rest;
My wandering heart, so lost and tired, would finally find its nest.

I fear not what tomorrow brings, nor mourn the days that have gone;
If only I could have you near me, I would need no other dawn.

And if my night were dark and cold, your eyes would be my guiding light;
If sorrow drowned my weary heart, your face would make the darkness bright.

Let your embrace be my refuge when the weight of life is hard to bear;
Within your arms I would discover every love and every comfort there.

If the world should turn me away, and all the people call my name,
I would still walk toward the place where your loving hands remain.

How beautiful it is to have one soul who stays beside you through it all;
When everything around you breaks, that soul remains and will not fall.

Not like the flowers of this world that bloom one day and fade away,
Nor like the vows of those who leave when love becomes too hard to stay.

O you, my gentle-hearted love, if you remain beside me here,
I shall desire no other soul, in this world or the world beyond, my dear.

Your gaze is heaven's garden to me; your absence is my deepest hell;
My greatest wish is just one moment within the place where you dwell.

If loving you should be a sin, then let me cherish every part;
And if your love should be a prison, I will gladly be its captive heart.

Do not warn me against this love, for love has raised my soul from dust;
It gave my weary heart the strength to breathe, to hope, to trust.

I am the lover who, without fear, placed my heart into your hands;
I gave you all my very being with one smile I could not withstand.

And if you ask me at the end, “What do you wish from life, my dear?”
I would answer, “Just a peaceful heart, and one faithful soul kept near.”

I do not want a loveless life, nor days that leave the heart alone;
For what is all the world worth if love has never made it home?

Let your embrace be mine—what need have I for strangers anywhere?
With you beside me, I shall live, though countless souls surround me there.

When you, who know my wounded heart, are here, I bloom once more;
You are the healing that I seek, the cure my weary soul adores.

And if the world should wear me down, if sorrow should make me old,
One promise whispered from your lips could make my spirit bold.

Stay, my love, for without you I am not the one you used to know;
Stay, my love—for without your light, where could this heart of mine go?

And if one day our fate should write the cruel word of separation,
I will carry you until my final breath, beyond all time and destination.

Wherever you may wander, my prayers will always follow where you are;
And every night until the dawn, my heart will long for where you are.

Let your embrace be mine—what need have I for strangers near?
Within your arms I find the grace of heaven, and all that I hold dear.
