A bridge is built of heart, and veins run crimson with your blood,
Lest you should take your leave of life and leave me where I stood.

Each breath I take whispers your name beneath the silent sky,
For without you, even breathing feels like learning how to die.

When night descends and hides the golden face of day,
I search for you within the memories that refuse to fade away.

If you should wander far from me, distance would not be small,
For without your presence, sorrow would swallow all.

I stay awake beneath the stars, still waiting for your light,
Holding your name within my heart throughout the endless night.

A hundred times my heart has said, “Forget this love and flee,”
Yet every road I take somehow brings your memory back to me.

You are the unwritten story resting quietly in my soul,
The unfinished poem whose missing verses make me whole.

Wherever I may wander, I can feel your fragrance there,
And wherever my eyes may turn, I find your image in the air.

I once had sworn that I would never give my heart away,
Then love arrived like destiny and stole my will away.

Neither can I cast your memory into some distant sea,
Nor can I tear this love apart from what remains of me.

If you should ask me why I love you as I do,
I would simply say, “You taught my heart what love could do.”

If I am burning, let me burn within the fire of love,
For there is no other flame my wounded heart dreams of.

Even if the world should claim the treasures of my soul,
There is one secret left inside me that no hand can ever hold.

Years may pass, and memories may wither with the rain,
Yet the fire of what we once were shall still remain.

Perhaps I will never have the chance to see your face again,
Still, your name will find its way into my prayers at dawn.

I ask for nothing from this love, nor do I seek a prize,
It is enough that you still live somewhere within my eyes.

Perhaps one day your hand will rest within my hand,
And every sorrow I have known will finally understand.

Perhaps when your eyes meet mine beneath the fading light,
You will know how much I lost by missing you each night.

And if my final breath should carry your name away,
I would never regret loving you, not even for a day.

For you were the sweetest chapter of the life that I have known,
The quiet masterpiece my lonely heart called its own.

As long as breath remains within this fragile chest of mine,
I will love you—even beyond the boundaries of time.

A bridge is built of heart, and veins run crimson with your blood,
Lest you should take your leave of life and leave me where I stood.
