Before I Found You

A cheesy Valentine’s Day love poem that wasn’t good enough to qualify as an actual gift so I just tossed it in as a bonus since my girl is in jail and I figured that it would be appreciated more simply due to the fact that it gives her something to do.

Before I found you, I could have a million in the bank and still feel broke.

Before I found you, I could do nothing but get high, and I’d still feel low.

Before I found you, I could have a GPS and I’d still be lost.

Before I found you, it was never the right time, regardless of what digits were there on the clock.

Before I found you, I could be surrounded by people at a party and still be alone all by myself.

Before I found you, I had no idea how true love really felt.

Before I found you, I was breathing but for no reason.

Somehow I had faith that you were out there and all I had to do was wait so I kept believing.

I kept struggling, suffering, being broken and bleeding.

I learned from my mistakes and you put an end to the same failures echoing in my ears with whispers screaming & repeating.

I saw your face and recognized you as the mystery woman appearing when I’m dreaming.

You’re the one I’ve been waiting for my entire life spent chasing and seeking.

Before I found you, everything felt wrong and nothing was right.

You had me when you said you ate batteries, I knew it was true because you fill my life with light.

I knew your kiss was electric before I ever even felt it.

We are just that connected and I miss you now more and more with every second.

Before I found you, I didn’t care about anything especially not myself.

Now that I found you, I need you and only you, I can’t live without you and I don’t want anybody else.

I’ve always been a writer. I consider this area to be a living rough draft of the miscellaneous monstrosities, melted/molded memories, and maniacal/magical mysteries of madness manifested by my pen. Mostly, it is just a way to preserve stuff while also potentially gaining some kind words/cryptocurrency tips from random people who will never know how cool it makes me feel when they like this chaotic conundrum of content.
