The warm, gentle air 

The bright, smiling sun and all its flair 

Or the soft and ever so slight blanket of breeze, 

Music for the blue skies and swaying, leafy-green trees 

Divine rainbows from the occasional showers 

And perhaps the grown-up flowers  

planted by honeybees 

The vibrant tones of color  

That brings forth chatter and laughter 

Freedom and relaxation by the pool 

Children out and about, away from school 

Glistening blue waters that are always cool 

New adventures, fresh ideas, different experiences 

And all the fun that comes with it! 

This is summer.
