Spawn aka most badass superhero , is a comic book superhero created by author Todd McFarlane. Former CIA assassin named Albert Francis Simmons is murdered and sent to hell. After he makes a deal with the devil, in order to see his wife once more, he is sent back to earth as a Hellspawn ( human-demon hybrid foot soldier of devil's army ) named Spawn.

Spawn returns to Earth, five years from his time of dying, with almost no memory of his life, a full scarred body with a face  that doesn't resemble his past self at all, dormant superpowers, and an ominous figure who seems to be always watching Spawn's every move, the Clown. Spawn has a hard time to come in terms with the state of his current self which makes difficult for him to decide  to go and meet his former wife, Wanda.

Spawn is an anti-hero, a vigilante, he early steps as a Hellspawn find him fighting street gangs and criminal organizations. Spawn is also hunted by Angels, Angels are sent from heaven to hunt Hellspawns, with Angel being the prominent Angel who Spawn fights against. After same time Spawn manages to be the protective figure of Rat City befriending homeless in the process. One of them a former Hellspawn is trying to consult him in doing good deeds in contrast with the Clown, Spawn's evil guardian from hell.

Spawn's most prominent adaptation is HBO's animated series (1997-199). In July 2017,Todd McFarlane  confirmed he would direct a film adaptation of Spawn , though it seems the plans for the film are constantly being delayed McFarlane says it's gonna happen one way or another. Spawn latest appearance was at Mortal Kombat 11 as playable character.

All in all Spawn is one of the most notable superheroes not being in multiverse , almost complete adult content , something to be expected from the creater of Venom , with biblical references , exploring themes such as redemption ,betrayal and solitude ,Spawn is a work that should not be ignored.
