Last night on Twitter, 2/6/23, Meta Tattoo Club held an amazing event on Spaces! Many difficult to accept questions and points were discussed. Anyone who didn’t have the chance to listen missed an extremely productive conversation. It might be really helpful for this space as a whole, too stop looking at it as NFT first. Average people don’t understand the “lingo”, they don’t understand crypto, and they don’t understand NFT’s. The art world is understanding and willing to accept NFT’s. The crypto community obviously understands but mainly wants price movement. These are relatively small communities and for the most part don’t need much convincing. For some reason it’s like we’re all just yelling at each other, but nobody’s listening outside our small groups. Talk to everyone about the businesses being built first, when the time is right the NFT aspect will organically come into play. Use language that people understand. It’s also very limiting when projects start getting further into the weeds. (xyz.nft: great project, great community, great art, BUT… you can only use Solana and you can only use a Phantom wallet and you need a twitter account, and you must be active on discord!) When I look at it like that, it’s crazy. Everything is very early here and we should always keep that in mind. We shouldn’t compare our chapter one with someone else’s chapter twenty. Let’s break some of the barriers to enter this awesome community and show everyone how amazing it is. If we continue to make moves outside of the tiny world of the NFT space, long term growth will occur. Understand that people might need training wheels before they are comfortable riding the bike. As DMX said in the movie Belly, “learn how to put weed in the bag, then get money.” Love you all!
