I could have posted this yesterday, but I wanted to finish what I had been doing first.
It has been in the making for a month or so now, in fact since the day we beat Cardiff City our main rivals on their own turf and opened up a gap between us and them. Our destiny was in now in our own hands and with a grit and a determination never before seen by the Imps we held on and never let go. On Saturday we were losing in stoppage time to Stevenage before eking out a draw with a last minute goal.
Last night's 2-0 win against Doncaster secured the League One Championship for us and we have now had three promotions in the last nine seasons and we have achieved each one by finishing as champions of the respective leagues we were competing in. Next year we will be competing at a level we have not seen since 1960-61 and I am pinching myself to believe - while not getting too carried away - that we are potentially only one step away from the much-vaunted Premier League. While highly unlikely, we could be playing Premier League Football by August 2027!
To show our quality I must also add that it is now 28 games since we lost and on some of those occasions, with a never say die attitude, we have picked up points in that, the smallest of all windows at 90mins+ So well done Imps.
A gracious Cardiff City Supporter in conceding defeat has said that Lincoln not only won the league but they smashed it. We confirmed promotion a couple of weeks ago and now we know we are Champions too. There is only one question remaining. Can we finish the season by acquiring that incredible and almost magical 100 points tally. With 97 points on the board and 6 more available anything can happen.

The Championship (English Second League) will bring its own challenges, but we will enjoy the experience while it lasts and never say never... given what has happened this year... this could just be another stepping stone in what is turning out to be the greatest era ever, and certainly in my lifetime, in the history of Lincoln City.
As always stay safe and well my friends.
