Some thoughts on improving Publish0x

It is no secret that I love P0x and I love blogging and I love interacting with the community. I sometimes find myself wondering if a couple of little tweaks could make the P0x experience even better. I have a couple of suggestions, but it is important to state from the outset that I am more than satisfied with my P0x experience and with that in mind what I am suggesting is more of a wishlist than anything else.

So, let's begin.

Both tweaks that I am going to suggest possibly can be done through the dashboard. The first one I have mentioned before, but both suggestions are concerned with the notifications facility, which to me is not particularly effective, because of the relatively low number of items it can show which are a mixed bag of posts by bloggers you follow and comments either on your own posts or as a reply.

So my first suggestion to help make this more effective, and I don't know what kind of programming would be necessary to do this, would be to add more information to the "Post Earnings" element by including a clickable comments element which could take the following format, under the title "Comments".

5 (3 new)

The hyperlink would then (possibly even in a new window) take the user to an anchor point on the Comments section at the bottom of the said post. This would make the user experience more efficient.

I also wonder if it is worth expanding this section to the last 10 posts rather that the current five.

My second suggestion is that in addition to a "Latest Posts" page another "Latest Posts by Whom you Follow" page is created. It would need a better and more succinct title than that, but the whole point is that it "pre-sifts" those authors you want to focus on (after all you are following them) and then you can choose to either go general as currently or focus on those that I am really interested in. There are about five bloggers who I would like to tip almost every time (this might seem unfair on those I am less familiar with, but I chose to follow these bloggers anyway) and under the current notifications tab  probably have to click "see more" several times to find them.

The alternative, send notification when somebody you follow posts approach, would not work as it just creates clutter which has the same value as white noise.

Like I said during the introduction this is more of a wishlist than anything else. Do you have any thoughts?

Drop me a comment below.

And with that, and as always, stay safe and well my friends.
