Just when you think he can't get any dumber he pulls yet another surprise out of the bag and he leaves the rest of the world scratching its collective head. How the f**k can he be so f**king stupid. This isn't even an article about the the rights and wrongs about what is currently going on in Iran, but as always my sympathies lay with the oppressed and while I won't go as far as to name her - as it is not my right to - there is at least one blogger on here who knows how dangerous it is; even to the extent of her posting about how her sister, and athlete thinks her athleticism will keep her safe, but as our fellow blogger also observed - not from the regime's bullets.
What this is about is the infantile stupidity that is Donald Trump. When he came back to office just over a year ago he made all kinds of claims that he was the President to end wars, what he called stupid wars. He would end the Ukraine conflict ("that would never have started had he been President") in 24 hours. He has made grandiose claims of ending multiple wars over the last year, with some justification concerning India-Pakistan and it could be seen that in restraining Israel he brought a kind of peace to Gaza
Looking at what is happening now I wonder if this was part of it. The IDF stepped back because he offered to attack Iran in the near future?
He then demanded the Nobel Peace Prize, It is an award, in other words it is something given and not something that is there to be taken. It is not given on the basis of self-reward but on the basis of recognition.
If you won't give me what I want then I will throw a tantrum such as the world as never seen.
And this is exactly what he has done since; rather than being a peacemaker he has become a warmonger. I
He knows he only has three years left, and maybe less depending on the mid-term results, to fulfill his agenda. Even with that there are more than enough hints that he will try to get around it and stand again - and almost certainly if he does manage to stamp on the U.S. Constitution and loses he will claim victory anyway.
His tantrum is sending ripples around the world.
Donald Trump decapitated the leadership of Venezuela in a highly illegal act of international interference and then paraded a whole load of oil barons who took it in turn to congratulate him and an act of self-aggrandisation that was almost sexual in its grotesque smug self-gratification. Again, as with Iran, this is not a comment on Maduro, rather Trump's right to do what he did.
Then moving swiftly on, he unleashed, alongside Israel "epic fury" last Saturday with devastating results and somewhat disappointed by his European allies he has turned on them again. Relationships already strained over Greenland and his disrespect of Canada have become even more broken down when said that he expected full cooperation. He even "stopped trade" with Spain briefly.
The bottom line is that he has started a war of aggression with Iran and is now calling on Nato to support him. Something Nato members are reluctant or even unwilling to do. He will then use it as an excuse to further undermine the status of Nato (you are very welcome Mr Putin). But Trump is missing the point. Nato is a defensive alliance, designed for self-protection and not aggression. The famous Article Five clause is about mutual defence (all for one and one for all) and not about furthering American imperialistic, expansionism.
Trump really does represent American Exceptionalism at its very best - the lie that it always has been!
What is most concerning is that any thriving democracy should have checks and balances in place to keep it healthy. America wake up. It's already too late.
Mr Trump we will find you a dummy and you can go down for a nap now.
