According to the Daily Express (not the world's most reliable news paper), US President Donald Trump has mocked the UK over the Falkland Islands, claiming British forces would not be willing to travel that far to defend them against Argentina.

While maybe not so sensationalist other media outlets have been making similar noises so there might be some truth to this).

The US President waded into the sovereignty dispute while sitting alongside Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin during his two-day visit to Ireland. Mr Trump previously hinted that he might not back British sovereignty over the Falklands if Argentina launched another attack.

He mocked the UK's military capabilities, suggesting Britain would be unwilling to send troops back to the South Atlantic as it did in 1982. Trump said: "Well, the Falkland Islands is very interesting because here we go again.

"I remember as a young boy, a pretty young boy anyway, but the Falkland Islands, and I think it was a different country at that time, the UK, a little bit, but they went in, and they took it over.

"I’m not sure they’re doing that. They have a little problem with immigration. They have a little problem with energy, and then have some other problems they have to take care of. So, I don’t know. You know, I don’t know if they’re going to be willing to travel that far.

"That is very far away. You’re talking about weeks by boat. I don’t know. I’m sure I’ll be called into that potential disaster, but if they do, I’ll probably be able to settle, settle it out. But right now, you have two countries that are not happy concerning the Falklands."

So as usual he is fall of s**t and just stirring the pot again, but it might just be enough to encourage Argentina to give it a go if they think they are hard enough.

Aside from the doubtful assistance of the US, it would trigger Article 5 and we wouldn't be alone and surprise surprise when Trump is involved Putin is the winner.
