Four Years Already...

Four Years Already...

At this time of day exactly four years ago, 17th October 2022, I was under the knife and the picture above is my actual bed in the hospital that was taken the day before. It was to be my home for the next six days as I struggled to come to grips with the aftermath of my surgery.

I had a hip replaced and while the surgery was a success (well see below) apparently it was challenging because their was "only just enough material" to be able to complete the operation. This may have been a factor in the extended time I spent in the hospital. They kept me in a night longer than average and apart from that very last day I kept fainting every time I tried to walk.

You might remember my post from when I spent the night stuck on my back!

So, where am I at physically now. On the whole the left hip is much better than it was. It still clunks (moves randomly sideways) from time to time and aches especially when the weather is changing. One unexpected side-effect is that the operation does appear to have fixed my slightly dodgy knees. I guess it is something to do with leveling up my pelvis.

On the negative side there are some indications - for now I know the signs - that my right hip is on the way out. As you know I am fighting my trigger finger (posted a couple of times about that one) and additionally my shoulders are calcified stiff and weak.

Seems like I need an MOT.

Don't even ask about my mind!

And on that note, as always stay safe and well my friends
