Just when I thought he had hit the bottom of whichever sewer he crawled out of...
It was only a few days ago when Trump complained that he wanted “full cooperation” (in a war of aggression) from his allies. I have already posted about this and how Nato is fundamentally a defensive alliance and how he temporarily blocked all trade with Spain due to them (as their right) wanting to keep out of it. Then yesterday, concerning the British preparing an aircraft carrier, he declared that he doesn't want any help from allies who join a war after it is won...
... and this is from a President of the US, a country well known for losing wars or joining them late, and just wait, collective America before you get on your high horse about WW2. The Soviet Union would have defeated Nazi Germany with the assistance of Britain and her allies - even if it was at a greater distance and if it would have taken longer. The only question mark was a matter of where the Soviets would have stopped (Berlin, Cologne, Paris?)
Oh, and by the way the war is so vague with its intentions that it is far from won and boots on the ground will make Iraq look like an afternoon stroll in the park.
Incidentally, it is worth mentioning that "Trump's Armada" was on its way for several weeks and if he wanted the support of his allies he should have let us in the loop earlier. Then we would have been ready. Of course, such simplicity is way to complicated for the great orange baboon to grasp.
Whether Nato allies should support an immoral war and especially after the way Trump has treated them (think Canada, Greenland, the UK, disrespecting fellow Nato military forces, etc) is another discussion entirely.
And by the way this is not a comment on the Iranian regime.
In Britain Sir Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister, who is largely perceived as inept, had been treading carefully with Trump and for a while it seemed that his soft approach was working as he steered the great lumbering buffoon. That was up until about a month ago. Now the truth is that he has probably used the last of any political capital and credibility he had left.
Well done, Mr Trump on your latest act of stupidity. America wake up and get him impeached before he drags the whole world down.
