Beware of Suspicious Coinbase Email.

By rah | rah | 24 Jul 2023

Hi one and all I trust you are well?

I don't get to post as often as I used to, being busy as I am. I am still here even though I am more of a lurker nowadays and I am still reading and tipping.

Anyhow I wanted to share something with you today however brief this message turns out to be.

I was checking my junk this morning and I came across this.

scam-email

Now if this doesn't look suspicious I don't know what does. I have no idea what the .docx document is and I don't intend to find out (incidentally does anybody know a safe way to open such a file - although I would still advise against it.

Incidentally there is no evidence that this originated with Coinbase and there are plenty of reasons - just looking at the email - to think that. So do not see this as a reflection of what Coinbase are doing whether you love them or hate them or indeed have become cynical about them as I have.

For a change this is NOT their fault lol

Just wanted to warn everybody out there. Be very very careful my friends.

All the best.
