Yesterday evening was a remarkable and unique evening, and i had never seen anything like it before.

Similar yes - but not the same.

So what happened I hear you ask. Very simply as I am visiting home (those of you who read my post a couple of days ago will be aware of this) for the first time in nearly two years.

Back in April, I messaged an old friend on FB for his birthday and as we exchanged messages I told him I would be over in August and that we should meet up for a jar or two.

That set the ball rolling, because before we knew it there was a whole bunch of us and we met last night and in most cases we hadn't seen each other for 30+ years. A couple of them were still in regular contact - as am I will some other friends who were not able to come.

It was such a great evening and the truth with genuine friendships is that it is about quality over quantity and that was what we had. Four or five hours of quality time together. Of course our lives have all moved on and we have many experiences to share, mainly good, but occasionally bad, but we were still essentially the same people we were back there in the day.

I did experience something similar about 10 years ago when another school friend passed through where I live, but that made it a mere 20 years since we had last each other!

My only disappointment for the evening was that one of my friends, who wasn't drinking dropped me off where I am staying, but he didn't come in his Porsche!

I just had to make do with his sleek Mercedes instead!

No, joking apart, the only disappointment was that the evening was too short and we all vowed not to wait 30+ years again until next time.
