A Matter of Perspective...

A Matter of Perspective...

Again I have no idea how long or short this post will be. I am just going to open my heart a bit (but not too much of course).

As those of you who read my posts know, our family life is going through a season of challenge and difficulty and while I can't (nor should) speak about other members of the family I can certainly attest to the fact that it is taking its toll on my mental health - and probably not just mine; only I am not going to go there.

Late last week I was on the verge of posting some lyrics from a song that capture how I am feeling, but then we all had a sudden shock.

I am of course talking about Younger_Rah's health. He took such a downturn and was so ill - particularly on Saturday - that it changed perspective dramatically. Inevitably rather than being inward looking the focus moved to Younger_Rah and his health.

It is good and right that we need to take care of our own mental health, but sometimes (and sadly) we need a shock to the system to re-adjust and look at the bigger picture. What really matters is that our two and a half year old is in his own time of difficulty - and in his own way he is fighting and bouncing back and our role is to support and love him as he does so. At the same time we must not forget Older_Rah who is more than aware of what is going on and what he does know is that Younger_Rah is away and naturally that is taking Mama_Rah away from him.

When one child is ill it also has implications on the other.

And so. with everything going on, Younger_Rah's health issues have - certainly for me - forced me to have a long hard look at the optic through which we look at things and I would actively encourage others to do so, for life ofttimes is a struggle and a fight.

And in the midst of this we must keep in perspective everything that is going on and the big picture.

As always stay safe and well my friends.

BTW the image was too good, not to reuse.
