Popular American entertainment company Marvel Entertainment has announced a collaboration with NFT platform VeVe, operated by Orbis Blockchain Technologies Ltd., to promise NFT collections over the coming months, including 3D statues and digital comic books with mixed reality provided on VeVe.

VeVe is in simple terms an app where NFTs from popular cartoon/comic series can be bought within drop times, having unique 3D features when held, similar to how the items/characters on Pokemon Go or Minecraft Earth are shown. Ecomi details the features and purpose of VeVe, going as follows: 

VeVe is an app-based marketplace for premium licensed digital collectibles. With VeVe, users can obtain common, rare, or one-of-a-kind digital collectibles, customise and showcase them in the virtual showrooms, as well as buy, sell or trade collectibles with other VeVe users - all from the palm of their hand.

Ecomi is a Singapore registered business that is operated and supported by Orbis Blockchain Ltd., which is a registered company in New Zealand, having offices in Auckland, New York, Taipei and Shanghai. It sets the foundation of VeVe by providing the blockchain for VeVe it needs to process transactions on its platform to create and distribute transactions successfully.

According to VeVe, the Ecomi blockchain that functions is more than 99% energy-efficient than Ethereum (ETH), working on cryptocurrency ECOMI (OMI). The price of OMO at the time of writing is $0.002161, having a market cap of $360,763,116.17 to stand 224th in the leaderboard according to market cap. Collections of NFTs are first released as drops, only having a limited number of editions before they are run out. The most recent NFT drop is one for the DC Bombshells Series 2 that came out at 8 am PDT (Pacific Time Zone) on the 24th of June 2021 on VeVe. One of the two NFTs are included in the drop is Harley Quinn Deluxe 2 with the details and some images presented below.

If a purchaser missed out on a drop, they could purchase the desired NFT on VeVe's secondary market where users can buy/sell with each other on VeVe's NFTs.

The NFTs held on VeVe could be taken out to the real world through VeVe's Augmented Reality features. For the NFTs to be projected into real life, first the surrounding need to be scanned, then dropping NFTs in the AR sections. NFTs dropped then can be moved, rotated and scaled to make them into scale with their surroundings, photos then able to be taken.

Marvel NFTs In VeVe

Marvel promises to have NFTs released later this year on VeVe for fans to purchase, projected to come out in the coming months. Such NFTs can be used through VeVe's Augmented Reality mentioned earlier, which carries exciting thoughts, bringing the Marvel realm out to the real world. 

The President of Marvel Entertainment mentioned the following on VeVe:

Having NFTs offers great opportunities for expanding the company for greater profits, reputation and interaction with its customers, especially with NFTs gaining a lot of popularity over the past few years.
