Heart and Womb (Ecclesiastes)

HEART

Ecclesiastes 1:13 And I applied my heart to seek and to search out by wisdom concerning all that is done under heaven: it is a sore travail that God has given to the sons of men to be exercised therewith.

Ecclesiastes 1:16 I communed with my own heart, saying, “Lo, I have gotten me great wisdom above all that were before me in Jerusalem; yes, my heart has had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.”

Ecclesiastes 1:17 And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also was a striving after wind.

Ecclesiastes 2:1  I said in my heart, “Come now, I will prove you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure,”  and, behold, this also was vanity.

Ecclesiastes 2:3  I searched in my heart how to cheer my flesh with wine, my heart yet guiding me with wisdom, and how to lay hold on folly, until I might see what it was good for the sons of men that they should do under heaven all the days of their life.

Ecclesiastes 2:10 And whatsoever my eyes desired I did not keep from them; I did not withhold my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced because of all my labor, and this was my portion from all my labor.

Ecclesiastes 2:15 Then said I in my heart, “As it happens to the fool, so will it happen even to me, and why was I then more wise?”  Then said I in my heart, “that this also is vanity.”

Ecclesiastes 2:20 Therefore I turned about to cause my heart to despair concerning all the labor wherein I had labored under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 2:22 For what has a man of all his labor, and of the striving of his heart, wherein he labors under the sun?

Ecclesiastes 2:23 For all his days are but sorrows, and his travail is grief; yes, even in the night his heart takes no rest.  This also is vanity.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time: also He has set eternity in their heart, yet so that man cannot find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Ecclesiastes 3:17 I said in my heart, “God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

Ecclesiastes 3:18 I said in my heart, “It is because of the sons of men, that God may prove them, and that they may see that they themselves are but as beasts.”

Ecclesiastes 5:2 Do not be rash with your mouth, and do not let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven, and you upon earth: therefore let your words be few.

Ecclesiastes 5:20 For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God  answers him in the joy of his heart.

Ecclesiastes 7:2  It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men, and the living will lay it to his heart.

Ecclesiastes 7:3  Sorrow is better than laughter; for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made glad.

Ecclesiastes 7:4  The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

Ecclesiastes 7:22 for oftentimes also your own heart knows that you yourself likewise have cursed others.

Ecclesiastes 7:25 I turned about, and my heart was set to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the reason of things, and to know that wickedness is folly, and that foolishness is madness.

Ecclesiastes 7:26 And I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are bands: whoever pleases God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

Ecclesiastes 8:5 Whoever keeps the commandment shall know no evil thing, and a wise man's heart discerns time and judgment:

8:6  for to every purpose there is a time and judgment; because the misery of man is great upon him:

8:7  for he does not know that which shall be; for who can tell him how it shall be?

Ecclesiastes 8:9  All this have I seen, and applied my heart to every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man has power over another to his hurt.

Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

Ecclesiastes 8:16 When I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth (for also there is that neither day nor night sees sleep with his eyes),

8:17 then I beheld all the work of God, that man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because however much a man labor to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yes moreover, though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

Ecclesiastes 9:1  For all this I laid to my heart, even to explore all this: that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God; whether it be love or hatred, man does not know it; all is before them.

Ecclesiastes 9:3  This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event to all: yes also, the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

Ecclesiastes 9:7  Go your way, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.

Ecclesiastes 10:2  A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.

Ecclesiastes 11:9  Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know you, that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

Ecclesiastes 11:10 Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

WOMB

Ecclesiastes 5:15 As he came forth from his mother's womb, naked shall he go again as he came, and shall take nothing for his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.

Ecclesiastes 11:5  As you do not know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so you do not know the work of God who does all.
