Ecclesiastes' Measurements

Ecclesiastes 6:2  a man to whom God gives riches, wealth, and honor, so that he lacks nothing for his soul of all that he desires, yet God does not give him power to eat thereof, but an alien eats it; this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.

Ecclesiastes 9:8  Let your garments be always white, and do not let your head lack oil.

Ecclesiastes 1:16 I communed with my own heart, saying, “Lo, I have gotten me great wisdom above all that were before me in Jerusalem; yes, my heart has had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.”

Ecclesiastes 2:4  I made me great works; I built me houses; I planted me vineyards;

 I made me gardens and parks, and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit;

 I made me pools of water, to water therefrom the forest where trees were reared;

Ecclesiastes 2:7  I bought men-servants and maid-servants, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of herds and flocks, above all that were before me in Jerusalem;

 I gathered me also silver and gold, and the treasure of kings and of the provinces; I got me men-singers and women-singers, and the delights of the sons of men, musical instruments, and that of all sorts.

Ecclesiastes 2:9  So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me.

Ecclesiastes 2:21 For there is a man whose labor is with wisdom, and with knowledge, and with skillfulness; yet to a man that has not labored therein shall he leave it for his portion.  This also is vanity and a great evil.

Ecclesiastes 8:6  for to every purpose there is a time and judgment; because the misery of man is great upon him:

 for he does not know that which shall be; for who can tell him how it shall be?

Ecclesiastes 9:13 I have also seen wisdom under the sun on this wise, and it seemed great to me:

Ecclesiastes 9:14 There was a little city, and few men within it, and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it.

Ecclesiastes 10:4  If the spirit of the ruler rise up against you, do not leave your place; for gentleness allays great offenses.

 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as it were an error which proceeds from the ruler:

Ecclesiastes 10:6  folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in a low place.

Many, Multitude

Ecclesiastes 5:3  For a dream comes with a multitude of business, and a fool's voice with a multitude of words.

Ecclesiastes 5:7  For in the multitude of dreams there are vanities, and in many words: but fear you God.

Ecclesiastes 6:3  If a man beget a hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul be not filled with good, and moreover he has no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he:

 for it comes in vanity, and departs in darkness, and the name thereof is covered with darkness;

 moreover it has not seen the sun nor known it; this has rest rather than the other:

 yes, though he live a thousand years twice fold, and yet enjoy no good, do not all go to one place?

Ecclesiastes 6:11 Seeing there are many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?

Ecclesiastes 7:29 “Behold, this only have I found: that God made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.”

Ecclesiastes 11:1  Cast your bread upon the waters; for you shall find it after many days.

Ecclesiastes 11:8  Yes, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many.  All that comes is vanity.

Ecclesiastes 12:9  And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he pondered, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

Ecclesiastes 12:12 And furthermore, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
