Not sure how many out there really understand how sophisticated Robots have gotten over the past decade. I am going to just pick one instance to show you the importance to our SCIFI future.  Boston Dynamics has been working diligently for decades on their Robot dog,   In the event, you are not aware of Boston Dynamics they started in '92 as a spin-off from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), so one could say very tightly coupled with technology is an understatement.

Robot Dogs - Boston Dynamics dog, is a quadro ped robotic dog which is known as 'Spot'. It can hop of two legs, it can climb stairs, it can open doors, it can hold open doors.  It can go over uneven terrain by leveraging its 360 degree vision

Spot went on-sale in July '20 for a price tag of only $74,500 USD. At that price range its safe to assume this is not going to show up in everyone's backyard. Perhaps it will in the Elite 1% as a cool toy or perhaps even morph into their private security details.

Use Cases:

• Ford is deploying them to augment their engineer staff, it is performing laser scans of facilities, to aid in efficiency for new designs, the use of Spot compliments their current robot fleet, although Fluffy can go places the others cannot. 
• Dept of Defense (DoD) urban warfare, house to house clearing.
• Industrial site inspections, perhaps even inspect buildings after earthquakes to minimize human risks.  Or how about sending them in after a Fukushima nuclear disaster, minimizing human radiation exposure. 
• Miners could leverage this dog to inspect mines prior to reopening mines after the COVID-19 shutdown. 
• Augment Home security details

Could we see Blockchain and Robot technology come together? I envision seeing the Blockchain being leveraged to track and trace robot activities. To ensure they follow the Three Laws of Robots.
