SCIFI Future - Flying Cars
Who else is excited for flying cars? Yes, the Jettisons come to real life. You already have a phone that can do hundreds of things; right?
GM announced last week they are exploring electric flying cars. Currently they are weighing out options, that includes if they are to build, supply or just partner in this new marketplace. No greater insight was provided on the program.
Last month in Japan SkyDrive successfully tested their flying car named SD-03 at the Toyota Test Field. It boasts of vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. It takes up the equivalent of two parked cars in a parking lot. The company did not allude to a price tag but is targeting a release of product in '23.
Think of the possibilities w/ AirTaxi's using vertical take off and landings...they would bring a different perspective to our world on a daily basis. Picture the Manhattan hedge event twice a year with just the right sunset it would be an experience. Or how about commuting across the Potomac river in one?
Concerns: Recently the FAA just approved Drones to aid in home deliveries (aka last mile delivery). So the airspace will get congested and there will issues some of which could be of grave concern with such accidents. Lots must be thought through to avoid unintended consequences for certain.
Makes me wonder what Tesla & Branson are working on behind closed doors?
Here's to our SCIFI Future!
