Rise of the Machines - Snowbot S1
The Rise of the Machines not this type!
This new type of machine have an entirely new meaning after I saw this Autonomous yard helper. This versatile machine can mow the yard, or even move snow.
What is it?
Autonomous yard helper known as Yarbo (his given name) this model was previewed back in '21 and it appears to be the latest generation offering from this firm The first model hit the market back in 2017. And they continue to refine the offerings and looks based on their website. Check it out lots more on their evolution.
How does it work?
Snowbot S1 onboard navigation system is composed of 4 UWB (Ultra Wideband) positioning terminals (much like you would find on a modern iPhone)
Three (3) as signal sender(s) and 1 as receiver that are part of a larger Precise Positioning Vision System (PPVS), which Yarbo's proprietary technology, which integrates RTK-GPS, Computer Vision and a myriad of other sensors to know its location and where it must go. The Snowbot user creates countless waypoints in the snow removal area or mowing area. The Snowbot achieves within centimeter-level accuracy on maintaining the path based on navigation system. It is powered by a battery - nope I didn't snip the cord off for the pic.
Yabro has a system of interchangeable modules
- Mower Module
- Blower Module
- Snow Blower Module
- The Docking Station
- Etc...
How much does it cost?
Hint - I saw an online coupon for $1,499 off. I mention that first as I didn't want to scare you. The Yabro body costs $4,499 (without battery) at the time of this writing.
- Each interchangeable module comes with their own associated costs.
- The battery has a price $1,339 at the time of this writing.
Summary
After seeing the videos of Snowbot1 in action I think we are going to welcome the rise of the machines; well perhaps not all machines. Just the friendly kind! And at this market price I will need to write 12 blogs a day for the next 300 years to be able to afford yard automation. But all the neighbors would come over and watch if I had a Yarbo!
Credits - all Yarbo pictures and images belong to Yarbo and no representation has been implied by use. The Terminator pic came from IMBD, same thing! All Credit to owners!
Disclaimer - I am not an employee nor an agent of Yarbo, although it sounds super exciting!
