CamlCase is in the process of building a mobile wallet for Tezos. Any DeFi ecosystem needs sufficient ways for users to interact with DaPPs, DEXes and the native Chain. The Phoenix wallet add a new layer of interaction. Phoenix will be a non-custodial wallet. This means that you, and only you hold the private key of your funds. This makes the wallet safer in the sense that there is no centralized party that can be hacked. (Custodial wallet services don't provide their users their private keys and store these keys on servers. So your funds is literally in their custody. Just like funds that you store on centralized exchanges.) The security of your funds is in your hands. This is commonly experienced as a positive, but the downside is the fact that if you lose your keys, you lose your funds. This is however in the line with the philosophy of cryptocurrency. You truly own your funds yourself, it is stored straight on the Tezos blockchain and you do not need to trust any third party. You lose your phone, you will always be able to access your funds with your mnemonic phrase on a new device. Phoenix will be a true trust-less wallet.

The first version of Phoenix will launch on both Android and iOS. You will be able to delegate your XTZ straight from your Phoenix wallet to a baker of choice.
An interesting fact that they mention is that you will also be able to swap, send and receive tokens from and to Dexter. Dexter is another project that CamlCase has bee working on for a while. It will be a decentralized exchange, build on Tezos.
