Crypto has taught me many things over the years. Never trust a green candle too much, never get emotionally attached to a bag, and always expect the unexpected.
But sending a hooded cultist into the woods and hoping he comes back with a sheep? Now that's a different kind of degen adventure.
Welcome to Ink Cult! Here dark fantasy meets NFTs, on-chain mechanics, and a growing ecosystem that promises to become more interesting with every new feature.
My cultist has been busy... but before that let's add a background story! I was one of the top HoodMiners and got on the list to mint a free cultist!
Minted mine and kept it in the wallet, but didn't knew it is gamified before HoodMiners had a mindshare campaign for Ink Cult, with NFTs as prizes!
I like a competition so I joined the campaign and started exploring. The floor for the NFTs went from free to $8 so that shows a strong community!
I learned that the cultist can be sent hunting in the woods and it's a 20% chance he comes back with an animal. You can hold it, sell it or use it at the altar soon!
I sent my cultist into the woods and came back empty handed, then for the second time the dude actually delivered. He came back dragging a sheep! 🐑
Only around one in five cultists return with an animal, so I am taking this as a massive personal victory. Forget trading volume and portfolio charts for a moment.
My hooded warrior is out there doing the Lord of Darkness's work. The funny thing is that I am genuinely enjoying these little adventures.
There is something satisfying about sending your cultist into the unknown, waiting for the outcome, and discovering whether he returns victorious or empty-handed.
It's a simple mechanic, but it gives you a reason to come back and participate. And in Web3, keeping people engaged beyond the initial mint is half the battle.
I am waiting for the Altar to go live and watching how the Ink Cult ecosystem evolves. The hunts are already giving us something to do... but rituals opens the door to ... more!
The project has been building around its dark-fantasy identity, with 1,000 cultists, twenty legendary characters, hunting mechanics, and an expanding world.
It's Sunday. The weather isn't raining. My cultist has returned with an animal. Life is good. Then my Ink Cult post landed me in the spotlight, and I became Creator of the Day
I enjoy supporting projects, sharing my adventures, and getting involved in ecosystems that give the community something interesting to explore.
Getting recognized for that effort is a lovely bonus. My cultist might be doing the hunting, but this PVM is still grinding in the trenches. Different woods... same mission.
There are new mechanics to discover, an Altar to look forward to, and plenty of room for the ecosystem to develop. I am not here to pretend that one sheep will change my financial future.
I've been in crypto long enough to know better! Tomorrow? We hunt again! You have knelt. You have bled black. The ink remembers who answered. The woods are calling.
