If you've lost your purpose in life, should you look for it or relax? I'll tell you how to find your purpose properly and ecologically.

Here's what Wikipedia says about purpose:

"A goal (German: Ziel) is the ideal or real object of a subject's conscious or unconscious striving; the end result toward which a process is deliberately directed; 'bringing an opportunity to its full completion'; a conscious image of an anticipated result."" "Wikipedia."

The most important words here are "the conscious or unconscious endeavor of the subject." It turns out that there is always a goal. It's just that sometimes a person realizes it, and sometimes unconsciously strives for it.

What to do when there is no goal?

Many people think like this: "I am unconsciously moving somewhere all the time. So, someday I will realize my goal. And others act in the opposite way. They say to themselves, "I will think of a goal, write it down 100 times (there is such a technique). I will put it on all the tablets (there is also such a technique) and on every page of my diary, on the desktop of my computer and on my phone! And I will realize the goal. Remember it constantly and act on it.

You can ask yourself every night: "Did I strive today? How much effort did I put forth on a 10-point scale to achieve my goal?"

How do you set goals?

There are coaches who advise inducing goal obsession. Up to the point of completely surrendering your entire life to just one aspiration.

"The end justifies the means" - this is a very controversial statement, which is popular with maniacs and murderers for the sake of achieving "pure ideals". This issue is fundamentally important. On the one hand, when a person does not set goals, he becomes reactive and driven. On the other hand, the man who has set goals moves toward his illusion. He has come up with the idea that somewhere and sometime, if a few specific conditions are met, he will be well off.

To this one idea (goal) he subordinates his life. He sacrifices comfort and recreation, sometimes risking his life or fortune. All crimes in the world have been for the sake of achieving some goal. Meanwhile, aimless people sat around waiting for orders. Who would win? Aimless people are ready to kill and die. For Hitler or Stalin. Whoever gives the order, that's who they'll follow.

If there's no purpose, what drives a man?

A lot of random factors that break into his life. When a person does not set a goal, he begins to be thrown through life like a splinter: there was a call, here a problem. The only way to live a systematic life is to set a goal. To organize your inner world from within with the help of a constant.

The outer world is very changeable. The inner world is also constantly stormy. What can become the constant and the pivot? A goal. You don't need to look for it, you need to set it, to put it into your brain like a GPS.

If a person suddenly loses a big goal and does not know where to move, then he should set a small one for the next month. For example, do 20 push-ups every day, or read two pages of a book, learn 300 words in a month, meet 20 new people, go to four new places. This is what it takes to learn to be goal-oriented.

Only then can a person set big goals. A person has to move through life passionate about his goals, not other people's goals. You have a goal and you go towards it in a disciplined manner.

If you decide to start your life with a clean slate, where do you start?

Every person is a set of ideas, principles and beliefs about the world. These values were formed in the past based on experiences and information he received from the world around him.

Currently, a person is a product of their environment: friends, buddies, social media, and family. A person is pressured by the decisions he has made in the past. There is a flood of uncontrollable information and influences from the outside. And at this point, the person decides to start life with a clean slate. What to do?

How to find the goal? One must become conscious

Move into a new state. You will enter a higher position of self-awareness and experience the present moment. You'll realize that most information is just an illusion. And everyone is living in some kind of soap opera and half dream. There is only a second in reality, the rest is illusion. That's the moment of the blank slate.

What's the difficulty? If you're just looking for happiness, this is it. When you don't need anything, you are in the present, you feel good, and others live in illusion. But most people still want to realize their potential. I believe this is every person's responsibility. People who want to organize their inner world need to study one book.

The best operating system for the brain is Stephen Covey's best-selling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. You embed the right principles that shape your life. And then you embed other mini-programs and skills: how to run a marathon, speak publicly, and study properly.

Awareness creates solutions. Decisions create actions. Actions create skills. Skills create character. Character creates destiny.
