Why Bitcoin's price increase is mooning other cryptocurrencies.

Tip this post if you like it!

As we all know and keep on repeating, Bitcoin's price determines the price of altcoins. This means that if bitcoin moves, altcoins move also and vice versa.

As much as it may seem unfair, that's the way it is. Bitcoin has the highest ownership and volume of all other cryptocurrencies, therefore it has the highest price and therefore controls all other cryptocurrencies.

And of recent, we can see that theory in action. Bitcoin moved up about 10 or so percent, and this led to BAT moving up 25%, BSV moving up 250%, XRP moved up 11% and even ETH with all it's controversy at the moment moved up about 7%.

Believe me now?

So why did Bitcoin's price just cause all these cryptocurrencies to bounce all the way up?

Simple. Because of Bitcoin's hold on the market.

Bitcoin has power. It has volume. And it has cash to back all these up.

Altcoins know this, and respond to this power given to bitcoin by the market.

The major problem in all that is that when Bitcoin falls, it doesn't fall as badly as all other altcoins do. Bitcoin may drop 6% tomorrow, which is mind-blowing for any investment, but this may lead to other altcoins dropping significantly away from their gains also.

One way to combat this move down is to take your profits from that coin and move it into Bitcoin entirely. This means buying or exchanging your coin for Bitcoin, and this serves as a hedge for those coming red candles. You can then get back into your positions by exchanging your Bitcoin back for those coins.

We all know that uptrends don't last forever.

With that in mind, it's very important to hedge yourself against moves down by moving in and out of coins for no fees at all.(Changelly does this for you)

And always remember that Bitcoin determines other altcoin prices. So always own some Bitcoin.

Thats the bottom line.
