Well, not EVERYTHING.
Crypto is, in one word, amazing.
The fact that in 11 or so years, Crypto has been the fastest growing asset on the planet,with bitcoin alone giving 53000% returns, and ethereum 36000%.
And, for context this means that if you had a dollar in bitcoin in 2009, that dollar would be 53000 dollars today. Try doing that with Forex.
But this post is about something else.
The fact that we've been lied to.
Crypto isn't here to replace money, as we've been told.(Some of them have claimed to be Messiahs of money)
It's easy to believe that Bitcoin would replace money soon.
But Bitcoin was created to work with money.
That's why we only have 21 million.
Yes, everyone in the world could have a little bit of Satoshi in each of our wallets, and the natural laws of supply and demand would take place.
But then, there would be those who'd be rich, and would be in possession of a whole bitcoin or two, while other regular people have fractions of it.
Savings would also affect that model, as that would remove bitcoin from circulation, and cause scarcity.
And unlike fiat, this scarcity cannot be fixed by printing more bitcoin.
A way out of this would be to reduce the prices of goods in relation to bitcoin.
And that would be great, except that sellers would have a larger number of bitcoins a than anyone else.
Basically, the limited number of bitcoins is a hindrance to making it global currency.
And you might argue that there are other cryptocurrencies.
To which I would say: Is their development up to Bitcoin's standard?
Even my grandmother has heard of Bitcoin. But she doesn't know what a Lumen is.
Bitcoin was created as a store of value.
It was created to be used in tandem with money.
Or just a way to move our regular fiat around.
Bitcoin is the father of Cryptocurrencies.
Yes, there might be a new cryptocurrency in the future that would replace money fully.
But for now, we've all been lied to.
Ps: yes I know I went off key and delved straight into bitcoin stats. But you have to remember that bitcoin pioneered this whole industry. And one way or another every cryptocurrency's price is tied to bitcoins.
