Over the course of the past few weeks, Publish0x has added a few new features that may have gone under the radar.
In this article, I'll try to bring them into the limelight, and show you where to get them and how to use them. I have sorted them into my favourites, starting from the one I like the most to the one I like a little bit.
Let's go!
1. Bookmarks
Finally, we can bookmark our favourite articles! I mostly like to browse through Publish0x on the toilet when I wake up, because that's when my favourite authors publish their posts. I try to read them all, but (expectedly) fail. And by the time I'm done trading in the evening, there's no way I'd remember all the titles of the posts.
However, with bookmarks, I can add the posts I want to read to a directory, after which I can access them anytime I want. Sweet!
2. Blocking other users
One of the features I've used a lot since its inception. Many people have a lot of messed up and negative views, and some people just want to hate on your articles. There was this guy that was a complete menace to the whole of Publish0x, and never quite agreed with anyone on anything. I wish I had this feature then.
My personal issues aside, blocking other users is a much needed feature, and I'm glad it's here. You simply go to a comment you don't really like, and choose the "block" option from the list of options there. However, there's no way to see who you've blocked so far. I would love for that to be added.
I don't know what it's like to be blocked, but I think it entails not being able to see the articles of the writer who blocked you, or not being able to comment on their articles.
3. Stats page
The stats page wasn't really requested for, but we got it anyways. This makes writing my end of the month post very easy, as I had to manually calculate the number of views and earnings before.
The stats page would show you the total number of views you have gotten from your posts, how much money you've earned and your best performing posts.
This is great because you can see your total earnings from one page to see if you're doing better or worse than the last month. Which is cool.
Now on to the things I wish they'll add next.
1. More tokens
I get that Publish0x is designed to be integrated with the Ethereum blockchain, but as we can see clearly, the fees are not very sustainable. Gas prices are way too high, and it's way too expensive for Publish0x to send out payments. I feel that basing the earnings on XRP, or adding a page where you can convert your earnings to XRP would be great. XRP has basically no fees anyway, and the payouts are extremely fast.
2. A chat feature
It would be nice for authors and readers to engage in a more private chat outside of the comments section. This comes with the problem of scammers and impersonators, but if this feature is somehow implemented, I'd love it.
3. An earnings curve
It would be great to see how your earnings have increased or decreased since you started Publish0x. An earnings curve similar to an equity curve would be a nice addition.
What features do you think Publish0x should add to the site? Let me know down below!
Thanks for reading.
