If you follow my blog, you'd know that I recently set up a mining rig that in quite proud of.
And while that's working,my old i7 computer was lying dormant.
So I decided to put it to work by mining Monero, a relatively light coin to mine.
So I set up the laptop into a small corner in my dorm, set a few USB fans around it to keep it cool, and more or less deleted all the data on the laptop before installing the mining software.
Then I installed the Monero mining software, went through the technical setup process and, after joining a pool because my weak hardware would more or less give me peanut shells after 2 years, I was ready to mine!
And the process was, while slow, very rewarding given that I just set up 2 mining rigs in the the dorm!
I will be providing feedback on every question in the comments, as I just finished setting up and haven't quite miners for up to 18 hours. So this post WILL be updated.
