Hello there. My name is Max, and I'm a student of the University of Liverpool where I study Electrical Engineering. I'm of British and American descent (mixed with some others down the line) and I am a cryptocurrency enthusiast and professional trader.
It's the last part that I share with everyone here.
One day, while sitting in a boring dorm after a series of lectures on electrical machines, I had a bright idea. What if I could earn 1 whole Bitcoin online?
But better. What if I could earn it FOR FREE?
You see, the number of people with 1 BTC around the world isn't that many. I wanted to be part of them.
At some point in the story though, I'll tell you why I dropped my goal to 0.1BTC.
So is started off looking for places to get the free Bitcoin. Of course I knew this wasn't going to be easy. Bitcoin at the time was $19000, so assuming that getting people to give you 19000 would be easy was a joke. That's the price of a car!
Before I proceed, please note that this isn't a how to guide where I tell you how to get 0.1BTC for free. Read that line again. This is my story on how I got 0.1BTC for free, and if you decide to follow any of the steps here, do so at your own intuition, and don't expect the same results. Thanks.
Ok, carrying on.
I knew that this wasn't going to be easy. So I posted out the tools that I would need.
Why did I need those services?
I needed Reddit because I knew that there could be some sub Reddit where people share latest airdrops or bounty hunts or that kind of stuff. I wanted to know immediately when any of these things happened.
I needed Twitter for very obvious reasons: Giveaways! I typed the word "crypto giveaway" into the search bar, and followed every single name that came out and also turned on alerts. I was ready when they were.
I needed Changelly to easily swap all my earned cryptocurrencies that weren't bitcoin into bitcoin. I chose Changelly over ShapeShift because I hate KYC.
And I needed YouTube to learn more about this crypto world I was in, and as you'll see later in this post, I also earned some crypto from there.
Ok. So why did I reduce my target from 1BTC to 0.1?
Simply because getting 1BTC was, and still is super hard. It's a really daunting task, and one that could take years. I didn't have years. I had only 7 months to devote to this "project".
So how did I go about it?
Well, I got about 30 notifications from twitter everyday. Some were ZCash giveaways. Some were MANA giveaways. Some were BCH or LTC or some obscure coin that wasn't listed on any major exchanges. Trust me, I tried to collect them all.
I had this phone back then (I think it was a Samsung Galaxy S7), where I could swipe from the right and have some information that I previously saved appear there. In the space for the information, I had all my wallet addresses and names. I was determined to get this free bread.
I entered every single giveaway everyday. And luckily, I won at least 1 everyday. There were days that I won 3 or 4, but it never went below 1. Note that that was a few years ago, and you probably won't win 1 everyday is you try today.
And the best part is, the coins I was winning were very amazing coins. I won some unknown coins like CDT and WRX(they weren't popular back then), but mostly I won some Stellar or Bitcoin Cash. Usually $5 or $10 worth, but at times I struck it big and won $50 or $100 worth of free crypto.
I remember this one time that I won $50 worth of this coin called MANA. I sent it to my exchange wallet at the time(I knew no better), and one day this coin just balloons to 3x it's price. In shock and awe, I sold off my $50 for $150. This was my first contact with ballooning coins, and I don't think I've ever gotten 3x my money many times since then.
Apart from twitter giveaways, I also engaged in surveys online. These surveys paid me about $2-$5 for each one, and I mostly spent 10 minutes on each one. It was safe to say that they were good paying ventures. I made about $10 a day, but mind you, this was when surveys were a thing you could legit earn money from. Now, they're just crap.
To wrap my story up, at this point, I had accumulated about 0.05BTC. This was about 5 months in the hole. I had warned roughly 0.01BTC every month(about 190USD, well below minimum wage), and I was on a roll.
The point where I believe everything changed was when I learnt crypto trading. At this time, Binance was just opened and had some attractive features.
Recall, if you've been following for a while, I always mentioned my experience with the Forex market. I had no idea TA could be used in crypto.
Instantly, I got an account on Binance, transferred my 0.05BTC to Binance, and in no time, I was trading.
To cut this long story short, I reached my goal about 3 months later. So I spent 8 months instead of 7 months.
I call the BTC I gained from my trading affair "free" , because the money I used to trade was free. So it's all fair.
In summary, that was my exact story on how I got 0.1BTC. I have since ballooned that account to greater heights as I got more insight on trading, but that's a story for another day.
I hope you enjoyed this story, and please leave a comment if you did.
Thank you for reading.
This is by the way, but I'd really love it if you could visit this post of mine. It has almost peaked a thousand views, and I need only 50 more to get there. I would really appreciate it if you could just read the post. It doesn't hurt that the post is helpful either. Thank you.
