Bitrefill is a service that aims to extend the use of crypto to the masses.
It is a service that allows for the buying and selling of various goods and services that you could use your regular fiat for, but doing it with your crypto.
These services include buying gift cards for computer services, buying food gift cards, just gift cards in general. You can also use it to send regular Bitcoin to other users over the lightning network (amazing) and you can use it to refill your phone plan with crypto. We'll talk about all these use cases, so stay tuned.
I will be dividing this review into:
- Bitrefill products and services
- Supported countries
- Bitrefill fees
- Customer support: Is it good?
- Supported cryptocurrencies on the platform
BITREFILL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
GIFT CARD AND CRYPTO TOP UP.
As I said beforehand, Bitrefill allows you to top up your phone plan, or buy gift cards with your crypto. They also allow you to use the lightning network without hassles.

Bitrefill partnered with over 900 mobile phone operators all over the world to make this service available. You can use your gift cards or your crypto to top up your phone plan, or your data subscription.
LIGHTNING NETWORK USE
Possibly the best part of the service to me. The lightning network allows you to create direct channels between you, the sender and whoever you're sending your crypto to, or the receiver for extremely fast and almost seamless transactions of bitcoin.
The major problem with Bitcoin is it's inability to scale properly and to handle the increasing number of transactions per second.
The lightning network solves this problem by taking the load off the major blockchain so that bigger transactions can pass through the regular blockchain, while smaller transactions pass through the network. It's super complicated, and I have a post simplifying it all.
But Bitrefill allows you to use the lightning network directly from your mobile phone, which is just bonkers.
Lastly, they allow you to buy giftcards with, and sell gift cards for crypto. This is great because it means that you can theoretically use crypto for almost anything. There are gift cards for food, travel, clothes, you name it.
SUPPORTED COUNTRIES
Bitrefill supports all countries of the world, but only supports a few languages, which are:
- English
- French
- Espanol
- Russian
- Deutsch
- Portugues
- Vietnamese
- Italiano
- Korean
- Chinese
The website automatically switches to your preferred language based on your location, and I have tested that this works with a VPN.
BITREFILL FEES
The way the fee structure works on Bitrefill is based on the congestion in the network, so it's never really fixed. I have paid 0.5% of my transaction cost in fees, as well as 4.5% for the same amount of gift cards I wanted to buy. It all depends on the network.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT: IS IT GOOD?
I have never really had any problems with Bitrefill in my few months of using it. I don't use it all the time, so I don't require optimum performance from it. The times I have used it though were very pleasant, and I didn't have any problems with it.
However, I did test sending an email to support. The email was quite redundant (I just said hello in it), and I got a reply about 6 hours later telling me hello also! I believe that if your problem is actually serious, you'd get an answer quicker, but the fact that my dumb email got an answer is a testament to how good this service really is.
SUPPORTED CRYPTOCURRENCIES ON THE PLATFORM
Bitrefill supports the following cryptocurrencies:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Lightning Bitcoin (LBTC)
- Dash (DASH)
- Dogecoin (DOGE)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
It also provides wallets for users on the platform, but I wouldn't use those because it's never a smart idea to keep your crypto on a service that has servers.
That's my Bitrefill review! Have you had any experiences with Bitrefill? Tell me about it down below.
