Now the authorities want to make sure that the entrance to Public Services is linked to the new Max messenger. In words, "for convenience and safety," but in fact there are many questions.
What could possibly go wrong here:
1. Privacy is in question.
The messenger is state-owned, which means that all data, activity, contacts and metadata can potentially be accessed by government agencies. When you use it to enter Public Services, it's no longer just a chat, but the key to your entire digital life.
2. Virtually no choice.
Previously, you could log in via SMS, an app, a browser, or other methods. Now it's becoming more common to say "set Max or you won't log in." Whether you want it or not is no longer particularly important.
3. One hack and all at once.
If your Max account is hacked, scammers will automatically gain access to your Public Services.
And they are already using the topic of "Max support" with might and main, calling, luring out codes and access points.
4. All in one basket.
One messenger = one login = one point of failure.
Glitch, blockage, malfunction - and you are temporarily cut off from all public services. Well, a very "reliable" scheme.
There are different ways to treat the state, but access to basic services should not depend on one specific application. Regular SMS messages are even an order of magnitude safer and more reliable in this regard.
