The disadvantages of living in America

So, I will continue about the disadvantages of living in America. So that you don't decide that this is heaven on earth and that you will come here with the whole of Russia! Joke. Maybe it's a bad one, but jokes aren't my thing, by the way.

I'll start with the fattest minus, which is a minus, but still turns into a plus for me...

USA

And to begin with, America is not a cheap country to live in. Of course, it depends on the state, and I live in the most expensive state. Many people leave here because of the high cost and because they believe that the price and quality of life here are not commensurate.

So, how much does it cost to live in California?

It's no secret that California is one of the most expensive states to live in.

And it really is!

Now I will tell you about my expenses and what minimum is needed to provide for the family.

I have a family of 4 people at the moment (2 working and 2 dependents).

The biggest expense item is housing. On average, two-room apartments (i.e. a two-bedroom apartment type) they cost from 2000-3500$. Now I'll decipher what it means. A two-bedroom apartment means that the apartment has 2 bedrooms, this is exactly the apartment I have now, I pay $ 2,300 per month. Usually, there are as many bedrooms and bathrooms, and as many, as it is correct to say, storerooms or something... This means that each bedroom has its own full bathroom with toilet, sink, shower, bathtub... And I have my own huge wardrobe, the size of a small room, my kitchen in St. Petersburg was that size, if anything... You can't even imagine how having 2 bathrooms changes the quality of life for the better. Next, I have a laundrette, in other words, a small laundry room, where there is a washing machine and everything for washing. Next, we have a large living room, which is a room-type room where we all gather to eat, watch videos, receive guests, and there is also a balcony with huge floor-to-ceiling windows. We have all new household appliances (it's all provided to me): washing machine, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher with full service in case of breakdown and other problems. I have full climate control (air conditioner and common hitter), with control from the phone, also with full maintenance and replacement of filters at the expense of the landlord. There is also a fire alarm system for the apartment and in general throughout the house. I also have at my disposal a garage under the house with automatic gates, that is, no one can enter there except the residents of the house. A beautiful enclosed lobby (like a front entrance, where no one will enter except residents and staff), Amazon parcel lockers, which I open from my phone, mailboxes to which I receive all my online orders, I don't have to go anywhere, to any pick-up points. And I can also put the letters that I want to send myself, the postman will also pick them up and send them. Also, houses for this price often have swimming pools and enclosed landscaped areas for walking, gyms, grills (places for roasting meat and receiving guests), and party rooms. But I don't have that, because I didn't choose the house myself, but my daughter did, and it was difficult because we had just arrived and didn't have a credit history in the United States. Our house only has an outdoor area for walking on the 2nd floor, such as a fountain, benches... And so for the same price you can have all this. And I want to change my place. I also have a garbage disposal, cleaning of communal areas, it's all included in this price. If an employee has to come to me to replace filters and other repairs, to change the light bulbs, then I must be notified a week in advance by letter at the door. Also, if cockroaches or mold get caught, I notify the owner by email or in a special application and they should come to me and fix this problem at the expense of the owner. If you count all these services in the Russian Federation, I wonder how expensive it will be?

Now I pay for utilities, gas, water and electricity separately, and it's about $200 per month.

I pay $55 for my home Internet connection.

For a mobile connection for 4 people with a full unlimited for everything, I pay $ 200. But there's a trick, we also took our phones in installments, and this amount includes payment for new phones. And for this money, we have full packages for free channels like Netflix and others, with the ability to install and configure individually on 5 different devices.

Next, the loan for the car is $ 400 per month.

Insurance for a car is $ 115, if for 2 cars, then $ 230.

Home insurance is $15.

Gasoline is 250$.

Food, I didn't count it exactly, but it's not expensive, we charge $ 500 and we don't deny ourselves anything. Absolutely nothing...

Clothes and household appliances, if needed, are not expensive.

In total, it takes $4,035 to make the necessary payments.

Now about the possible approximate earnings, the simplest and most affordable for many... For example, Amazon Flex can be like this, it is the delivery of Amazon goods, even women work there. You can make 2 deliveries per day, for about $100 each, for a total of $5,000 in 25 business days.

Well, that is, you can live if you come and you don't have a language, education, and you won't die. Well, of course, this is an example of a start. I'm not saying to live like this all your life, but you can always earn some extra money.

For a girl, it can be a part-time job as a babysitter. This is a very sought-after job, babysitters are in demand. For example, I worked as a babysitter for a 2-year-old girl. Come at 10 o'clock, feed breakfast, already prepared by my mother, pack up for a walk outside, feed lunch, put to bed... Mom comes by 4 days, all for $ 100. I can eat whatever I want, my family feeds me and treats me like a family... 25 working days 2500$. And this is the easiest option, it happens that there are more children, more responsibilities, and you need to stay with your family, but then you get paid more.

In total, two working adults are 5000+2500= 7500$. You can live in peace, you don't seem to have any status, but the standard of living is much better and calmer than with the status in the Russian Federation... Well, again, this is my opinion, someone does not want to live like this, their right... I've often heard this opinion, to go to this America to wipe their asses... Yes, you will have a simple job for the first time, or maybe this period will be delayed, depending on many components. But your quality of life, even in such jobs, will be higher. I still live in the feeling of a vacation, it doesn't let me go.

As a result, I don't really worry about the high cost of living, as I earn more. In cheaper states, you get less.

Here is my personal example of expenses and income... It's up to you to decide whether it's a plus or a minus.
