I will continue to tell you about life in America. And let me remind you once again, I am sharing only my personal experiences and my feelings. If you want to prove to me that America is bad, that's not the right place. I clearly understand that there are enough disadvantages here, but for me the advantages prevail. I accept various comments and opinions. But! Don't insult each other, impose your point of view. Healthy discussion is welcome!

So, THE MAIL IS OMNIPOTENT.
You know, dear friends, when we talk about America, we must understand that indeed, many things are arranged and work differently here.
Today I want to tell you about mail, because it's no longer about mail, but about different areas of your life, and the US postal services will be involved everywhere. It's not just about parcels and letters.
If you are waiting for an ID card (such as an internal passport), it will come by mail, if you have applied for a driver's license, if you have applied for medical insurance, if you have bought a car, the numbers will come by mail, the child's grades from school, answers to any inquiries, bank reports, in short, almost everything. it will come to you by mail, i.e. it will be in your mailbox. If, for example, you have submitted a tax return and the tax requires additional documents in order to make you a refund-a refund for children and other dependents (imagine, here the tax service can give you money, but this is a topic for another post), then it makes this request by mail. An explanation and request will be sent in the email, and an envelope will even be attached for return shipment. You fill out a ready-made questionnaire, attach copies of the necessary documents and send the letter back in a ready-made envelope, where the address is already printed. At the same time, you do not need to go to the post office, the outgoing mail mailbox is rather located in the lobby of your house.
If you ordered something from online stores, it will also be sent to you by mail, directly to the door of your apartment, or left downstairs in the lobby, or put in a special large mailbox, and the keys to this mailbox will be put in your mailbox. If you ordered something on Amazon, it will also be brought to your door or left in a special Amazon box, which is also located in the lobby of your house. And you will open this box using your phone through the Amazon app. If you do not like the ordered product, then you will make a refund through similar services. This usually happens like this: Amazon or another online store sends you a return barcode, you choose any mail service and select its nearest office, go there, the code is read in a second (directly from your phone, you don't need to print anything), you are given an invoice that you have sent and THAT's IT! It takes seconds, because this barcode contains information about your address and the address of the store where the refund goes and other information, nothing needs to be filled out either by you or the employee accepting your refund. Based on this barcode, the invoice for your return to the service is also issued. The refund is credited to the card you used to pay. An exchange is also carried out if you decide to change the product or suddenly something came wrong....
By the way, at first, we couldn't get used to the fact that what we ordered was lying near the doors or in the lobby, everyone was afraid that someone would steal, we couldn't realize that it was safe. Now we are used to it, for 2 years we have never encountered such theft. When the courier brings the parcel, he puts it at the door, takes a photo and it comes to you through the app and he also makes a short call at the door, if you are at home, then you go out, and there is no one there, only the parcel.
That's another reason to get better here, you don't have to go anywhere!
What's the downside? Your address is very important in this matter, and if you have moved, then you need to make written inquiries or call all important organizations to notify them that you have changed your address. Or, if your document is lost somewhere, then you need to find out this issue. We haven't seen anything like this in 2 years, everything came to us. But I've heard such stories that this can happen, especially if you move frequently and don't notify key services on time. Whether it's good or bad, whether it's convenient or whether the Russian system is more convenient for you, everyone will answer for themselves. I really like it, it's convenient.
The photo shows the lobby of my house, like the entrance or the front door of the house. In St. Petersburg, for comparison, the basement of our front room (I understand that in St. Petersburg this place is called the front room, but this place and this name do not correlate in any way in my head) has been flooded with shit regularly for the last 2 years. It's a persistent and stuffy smell of feces, they don't go on call, you wait a month... They'll fix it, clean it, and do the same thing again in a week. No complaints, no appeals helped...
People can come across as good, and sometimes very not so good. The work system itself is important. My last experience with the Russian Post was in 2022. A very important letter was sent to me, I was shown its last location by the sorting post office in St. Petersburg, and that's it, and silence. I'm calling this sorting office, they tell me what went to your email address. I go to my email, they tell me that there is nothing. I had to belittle everyone and everything, and the kind girl, I am very grateful to her, the post office worker went to look for her. He's coming back, nothing. I'm going to beg again. She said we still have an old database, and she searched, but there was nothing. I'm belittling again. She: - Oh, there are also those that are not logged in, they are lying there somewhere. I went to look, and lo and behold, it was found... Thanks to the girl, but the system sucks. And if you get a bad employee? Which I've also encountered many times. So, the Russian Post's operating system is so-so...

God has given man freedom of choice. And no other person has the right to take it away from you. I remain free and wish you all the same, to be free!
