I'll tell you about the school my youngest goes to. Specifically about music lessons. Our school is the most ordinary, with a low rating. There is one music teacher at the school, Miz. Sophia Cho - a very thin and beautiful young lady. She alone organizes all the music lessons (I don't know, maybe she has assistants). And these lessons are not just about singing songs in chorus, she teaches how to play instruments: violin, brass instruments, flute, cello, drums (there is another teacher who plays drums) and leads the orchestra. I want to draw your attention to the fact that our school is a Middle School (from 6th to 8th grade), that is, the children came here in the 6th grade and will leave after the 8th to High School). In short, the children came without the ability to play anything. And they only start playing here in the 6th grade, on the instruments they have chosen. And an orchestra is formed from these children, which gives concerts for parents twice a school year: at Christmas or Halloween and at the summer graduation. Of course, their playing level is not super. But the goal is not to make great musicians out of them. This is not even a music school. What I always like here is that no one is chasing greatness. The goal is to develop musicality and other skills, unite, teach how to work and cooperate in society. They even have a separate assessment for how a child can cooperate with a teacher and other children. So, the music room is full of all kinds of instruments. Children are given instruments here for free. Concerts are organized according to all the rules, with reservation of free tickets, with the sale of baked goods, which are prepared by the children themselves and all volunteers who want them, snacks. The first concert was on Halloween and the second will be today, because it is graduation and my daughter is finishing the 7th grade. My daughter is a violinist, but her level is high compared to other children, since mine studied at a music school and continues to study with a wonderful tutor. Therefore, she plays a very important role in the orchestra: she is the main one for bells and percussion. This is the moment when everyone falls silent, and she is like - ding... In short, the main role. She will also play in June, when there will be graduation for the 8th graders, because, I emphasize once again, she has a very important role, to make a ding at the right moment. Today I am going to her concert at school. And here I will show you fragments from the Halloween concert. Once again, I remind you that children play only the first or second year on these instruments and they have one music teacher for the whole school and this is not a music school.
