But then I heard that the 8-bit camera sucks and you can’t shoot anything normal with it. And the person sincerely believes in this and cannot be convinced.
The worst thing is that he brings this to the masses.
I fundamentally disagree with this.

The film "Cadaver" is a Hollywood feature film released worldwide!
This film was shot on that same old 8-bit Sony a7s2, which can’t make anything good.
Director of photography Lennert Hillege noted that one of the special features of the camera is that it captures 8-bit images and look at the result.
If a person is a professional, he will use the camera according to its capabilities and get a high-quality image.
Of course, using a movie camera would be more familiar and the result would be better.
BUT to say that the camera sucks and you can’t shoot anything normal with it is stupid.
Can’t shoot because there is no understanding and skills to obtain an image from this camera.
