"Three Hills Guarding the Edge of the World" is a terrifying fantasy Russia.
When reading, one association is a masquerade, a carnival, fun splashing out of everyone and everything, jokes, laughter. It's hilarious.
And when you close the book, there remains some kind of sucking void that needs to be filled with something, but after "Three Hills" everything feels terribly bland and tasteless. So be careful with this novel - the hangover after it is very heavy...

There are books that you drop after the first paragraph and then regret spending the money for a long time.
There are books that you still read to the end, and then you forget about what you read forever.
And there are books that you want to tell everyone around you about your happiness! You run around the apartment (dorm or office) and try to share your joy with everyone.
This book is a delight. For the brains.
Although, when I started reading a book that accidentally fell into my hands, I fell into the trap of things that I completely did not understand, one beginning of which is: "My uncle knows how to rave in iambic pentameter in a dream!" Oh, how! And who knows what iambic pentameter is now? That's what I'm talking about.
Going on for 30 pages, it will be difficult for people unfamiliar with the modern extremist-anti-globalization movement. Not only is the main character talking nonsense, but the alternative future that Ouspensky has tweaked is a bit confusing.
But then you start to realize that a girl who talks nonsense has brains and a sense of humor and a completely forgotten sense of self-worth. And the rich and nondescript mama's son, the next Duke of Blackbury, is a man. Rare and real.
And then there's futurama, which doesn't seem real against the background of poetry. And phrases that I want to quote all the time: "Senora Pedrovna did not punish the adopted child, but only sighed and sympathetically remembered his real mother. I was lucky enough to hear these expressive words myself during a friendly football match in Moscow. Guys are fatally unlucky with coaches (written in 2007)!!!
Or: The aunts from the nursery took him to an orphanage, and my mother and I are not allowed to see him. They want to sell it abroad because everyone needs Mullian. And my mother was threatened with being deprived of her parental rights: the orphanage needs to implement the national project "Orphans instead of oil." And if she makes any noise, they'll sell me to the Arab sheikhs.…
It all sounds familiar...

"I still didn't understand, Uncle, why you don't like power. I laid on it, and that was it. But now I understand. They live to ruin everything. As you said, they can't do anything else with their heads or their hands. They live for us to die. They have such a task. Therefore, they are the power.
