Basically, the uniform consists of a polo shirt and trousers or skirt, or just a T-shirt, when it's cool, a hoodie. There is no shift. The gym teacher is wearing a T-shirt and sweatpants or shorts, optional. If you don't have a backpack or clothes, you can ask for help, everything will be given out for free. The school gives out a textbook from National Geographic, then they don't take it away, and you can leave it and enjoy reading it... How are you preparing for school? I remember it was a difficult case in Russia...
School in the USA ends around June 18 and starts on August 14 approximately. Each school determines this time individually. There are holidays and vacations, especially long ones at Christmas and Thanksgiving. There is no pressure on the children, they spend a long time there, they get to know each other, besides lessons, there are other tasks. How to communicate correctly, a lot of time is spent so that there is no bullying, racial insults. They deal with them and so on. There are no extortions here, from the word at all. There are practically no expenses for school fees.
The state must fully pay for the quality education of children, because this is the tomorrow of the state! And we are not talking about socialist thinking at all. This is correct capitalist thinking. This is a competent investment by the state in its tomorrow!
In Russia, many people take out loans to send their children to school. To be no worse than the others. Appearance in Russia is more important than a child's feelings. Grades are more important than knowledge. Lessons about what's important - and what's that? And it's all very sad. It's true about the appearance. And it's true about grades, but you also need to like the teacher, and if he doesn't like you? And a teacher can easily scold for clothes and for hairstyle, and allow a sarcastic and derogatory tone. Oh yes, but Russia is the best, how can you forget that!
