“Bear it and be strong, for this pain will one day benefit you.” (Ovid "Metamorphoses")
I am extremely happy to spend the next few years studying English Literature and Literary Criticism at one of the best universities in the world.
A year ago, I realized that my life without an education in English literature at Oxford and the opportunity to join the heritage of the classics in the original language is incomplete.
This is a challenge I challenged myself.
Getting an education in literature has been my secret dream all my life, but I was afraid to admit it to myself.
But the magical atmosphere of Oxford and the amazing people only strengthened me in my desire to learn.
Just watching local students and teachers at Oxford, how they talk, what they talk about, what aesthetic preferences they have, for the first time in a very long time, I felt “at ease”; I was very motivated and inspired.
I saw a goal that gave me energy and motivation to act.
In addition, having lived in England for a long time, I wanted to understand English culture and literature on a deeper level.
Shakespeare, Byron, Eliot, Joyce, the Bronte sisters, Wilde are now my best friends.
Of course, I’ve loved Shakespeare since I was 14, but the reverence with which the British treat the playwright is amazing.
Thus, in England there is a separate direction “Shakespeare Studies”, where you can defend a dissertation on Shakespearean studies.
Imagine, here there is a separate direction for English literature and a separate direction for Shakespeare.
Inspired by the aesthetics and atmosphere of humanities students at Oxford, and listening to British bloggers studying literature, I came across a program that allows you to enroll in a second year undergraduate degree at Oxford in English and English Literature.
My dream has come closer to me.
This course covers the entire history of English language and literature, from Beowulf and Virginia Woolf to literary theory and literary criticism.
To enter, it was necessary to pass an interview and discuss several works from the point of view of literary analysis, write an essay, and attend a summer school on Shakespeare.
The course is very convenient, it is compatible with work during the day.
After completing the course, when enrolling in a bachelor's degree, I will need to pass an exam in which I will have to analyze several poems (about 4-5) from the point of view of literary style and form, compare them in accordance with artistic elements and style, and complete other tasks.

P.S.
I am eternally grateful to all the warm and kind people who, through their example, inspire and motivate me to achieve and realize my potential.
I love England and the English, Oxford.
I can confidently call this place my second home. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else other than Oxford and London.
