Most spiritual aspirants accept ego death as a prime virtue foundational to the Path. Truth lives in that, but the terminology is a bit off. Yes! keep your ego subservient to your higher 5D consciousness. But, killing it is like an auto mechanic getting ready to fix a car by throwing out their entire tool box.
Like it or not, you are still working out your destiny in the fallen estate. That is still your platform. You don’t consider stumble bumbling around to be virtuous. So it’s silly to think that killing off your navigator and facilitator is virtuous.
Enslave your ego. Keep it well fed with human knowledge, fortitude and skill-engendering practice. Just be sure that it knows who’s the Boss in this town. You might even surprise it with a smile when it shows off with a bit more spunk than is called for, just to let it know that you’re both on the same non-side and that you appreciate its enthusiastic help. Keep it maximally useful by wiping it clean with your meditational approach, just as the auto mechanic wipes the tools free of accumulated grease and grunge after they perform their useful service.
