Photo Friday - Chicago

Not long ago, I visited Chicago and I had a really great time! It’s a cool city with lots of bars, things to do, places to eat and great vibe. The city itself has many distinct areas: ‘millionaires row’ the hipster areas of Wicker Park, the student area and beautiful beaches (sadly I didn’t actually go to the beach but it looked beautiful from above). There are also loads of great parks around and of course the Chicago Bean! Chicago pizza is to die for (although you get full after two slices).

I was staying in South Side Chicago, which was very contrasting to the North. Poverty was rife and every uber driver warned us the area was dangerous. What was most shocking was the racial divide, it seemed like South Side Chicago was almost exclusively African american. Coming from the U.K. I found it quite a shocking site.

Another shocking site was a man on the side of the road asking for donations to get an insulin shot. His whole leg was extremely swollen, and you could see a gash showing what looked like bone - I had never seen something like that in my life. I was grateful for being in the U.K. where I would never have to worry about this.

Nonetheless here are some nice photos I took, a lot are from the 360 Tower, the tallest building in chicago. You also can go on the ‘tilt’ where you tilt off the edge of the building.

Enjoy!
