During this whole lockdown I have confronted many aspects of myself. I came to the realization that I don’t get much from trying to please others online, and when I create for that goal I lose energy, passion and time.

I made an illustrated book once, to the friend who taught me how to draw. Just so he could see how much this meant to me, saying “thank you” wasn’t good enough. He is not the most expressive guy in the world, far from it. Yet, upon reading it, he began to cry… as an artist I have not yet experienced a better feeling, that knowing your work reached the person next to you and made them feel something so deep that they just couldn’t hold it inside.

This has happen several times in my life, and it’s always when I make something for someone close to me… never when making something to gain attention online.

So for me at least, it is very clear where to focus my attention and my energy. For now on I’m focusing on making those around me happier and not spending a single extra second wondering how to get more views on YouTube… I am done with this.

Now, before deleting all my social media accounts (like I was planning on doing) I had an interesting thought.

What if… I follow my plan of only making art with passion, but I still post it, make NFTs of them. If I could get some money I would be able to use this to “fund” other people’s “personal work”.

In the current economic situation we live in artist struggle, and have to be constantly working, never having enough. This leads to all of them giving up on their personal projects and the stuff that they would love to make but won’t pay the bills.

I cry when I think of all the music, the poetry, comics, movies, books…. That never were. We do not realize the price we pay by neglecting the artist spirit in all of us.

For this reason alone I’m starting this project. FOR THE LOVE OF ART.

Every single dollar I get from my NFTs will be used towards this end. I’ll create two pots, one for creating small things in a regular basis. While the other to be stored in a high yield BTC account to eventually fund more elaborate projects and bring many different artists across the world to work in something cool just for the love of ART.

This project it’s still pretty much in its infancy and I have not worked out all the details, so I’ll use this blog to keep you all posted.

I have already selected the first art piece and will fund it myself to get the ball rolling… Today I’m getting in touch with the artist to hopefully have it done before Christmas :)
